* A Call for Evidence – the Impact of Benefit Changes on Roma Communities in the UK *

This year has seen a number of changes made by this government about EU migrant workers and benefits, and access to benefits.  These changes include denying access to housing benefit for new claimants; limiting receipt of job seekers allowance to three months; and checks on claimants improving ability to speak English.  The Roma Support Group, with other agencies, is supporting a “call for evidence” about how these changes are directly affecting particularly the Roma communities in the UK.
